What We Stand for

The Green Party of Florida (GPFL) is the Florida branch of the Green Party of the United States.  We have ballot status party in Florida, and we run candidates.

We have affiliates in  Brevard, Central FL (Orlando and adjacent areas), DuvalHernando, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Pinellas, St. Lucie, and Volusia counties.

We are seeing that both Democrats and Republicans are pursuing an agenda of welfare for the rich and austerity for the 99%. The Democratic Party is, if anything, more rabid in its ruthless pursuit of bombs and sanctions to defend their “rules-based international order,” resurrecting the spectre of nuclear war. Climate change remains unchecked, as California burns and Texas freezes and the devastation caused by hurricanes has left our poorest communities in ruins months and years after the event. Police murders are still the “order of the day” in our Black and Latino communities. Covid is still killing thousands of us week after week and month after month.

Only an independent progressive party can challenge the corporate powers who are making obscene profits as the stock market booms, while homelessness is threatening untold millions.

We must fight for the party’s 10 Key Values:

  • Social Justice
  • Ecological Wisdom
  • Grassroots Democracy
  • Nonviolence
  • Decentralization
  • Community-Based Economics
  • Gender Equity
  • Respect for Diversity
  • Personal & Global Responsibility
  • Future Focus/Sustainability

The Green New Deal is our answer.:

  • Quality health care
  • Tuition-free, quality public education
  • Decent affordable housing
  • A living wage,
  • A safe workplace,
  • Fair trade,
  • The right to organize a union
  • Accessible and affordable utilities
  • Fair taxation in proportion to ability to pay

These are fundamental human rights which cannot be compromised. We vehemently oppose any moves that would disenfranchise the poor, people of color, former convicts, or anyone else from their right to vote.

Join us in the struggle for peace, justice, the environment, democracy and security.  Today.
